Legacy Trails is a mobile-only veterinary practice serving primarily large-animal patients in southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. We come to your farm or home and provide veterinary care for your livestock or pets on the spot. Call fees are calculated based on mileage from Crestline, Kansas. Contact us for an estimate. We are also excited to offer access to an online pharmacy (for established clients) with a drop-ship option.

Our practice name, Legacy Trails, is in homage to Dr. Shanks’s grandfather, Orlan Shanks. Orlan raised cattle in the area and served many cattle clients for years through the local stockyards. He passed his passion for raising cattle and horses, loving the rural lifestyle, and telling larger-than-life stories on to many members of his family, including Dr. Shanks. This practice honors him and the legacy he left behind.

Dr. Bobbi Ann Shanks was born and raised in Columbus, Kansas and is a graduate of Kansas State University. She has nearly a decade of rural, mixed-animal practice experience and has also served as a Veterinary Medical Officer for USDA-APHIS. Her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine are beef herd health development, obstetrics, and surgeries in all species. She is looking forward to helping make veterinary care more accessible in this practice area.
